Energy supply and use in South Africa
In 2021, the department of Mineral Resources and Energy did a report on the South African energy Sector. This report showed the primary energy supplies for South Africa.

They then broke down the energy uses of the commercial and public sectors. This showed that most of the energy was supplied by petroleum products (diesel and petrol and various products) followed by electricity.

How RoofWhirlys4Africa can help make buildings energy efficient
The Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) addresses ALL sources of energy such as generators, solar, and the grid. This means that if you want to not only become more energy efficient, but also to reduce the actual use of electricity, you must reduce the electrical demands of a building.
The RoofWhirlys4Africa products are used independently or along aside electrical lighting and cooling appliances. During loadshedding our products can replace the need to use a generator for cooling and lighting. Our products help to reduce the overall electrical use of the building because they will reduce and/or remove the amount of electricity needed to light and cool the building.
RoofWhirlys4Africa: Roof Whirlys (Whirly Birds)
Our Roof Whirly’s help to create energy efficient buildings by taking warm stale air out of the building and replacing it with cool fresh air. The Roof Whirly uses air and/or heat movement to cool the building. It is a great asset during these times of loadshedding and to reduce the energy usage. One of the benefits of the Roof Whirly is that it cools the building 24 hours a day. This means that during the night the building cools, making it easier and cheaper to cool during the day.
Our 500mm Roof Whirly suits larger public and/or commercial buildings whereas our 240mm Roof Whirly suits to smaller buildings and domestic use. Finally, our 350mm Roof Whirly is a multipurpose Whirly, suiting both Public and Commerical buildings.

RoofWhirlys4Africa: Grid and Flange
The grid and flange joins the use of natural energy and electrical energy when it comes to cooling. During loadshedding the grid and flange can open, allowing for natural ventilation from the Roof Whirly to cool the building. When wanting the air conditioner on, the grid and flange can close, allowing for the electrical cooling to cool the building.

RoofWhirlys4Africa: SkyLights
Our skylights allow for natural light to enter a room without needing to use electrical lights. It is a natural form of lighting reduces the energy needed and the cost of electrical lighting. Buildings would not have to use any form of electrical lighting when the sun is out.
Our Sky Lights fit onto a 240mm and 350mm Baseplate of our Roof Whirlys.
